At Pulmonary Consultants of Southwest Florida we offer the following Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine services

Evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of respiratory conditions whose symptoms may include shortness of breath, congestion, cough, and wheezing. Common lung diseases treated by our practice include asthma, COPD, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and chronic cough. Our staff is fully equipped to care for your lung health in our comfortable office settings.

Pulmonary function testing (PFT): Office based state of the art measurement of lung function. Lung specialists perform testing that allows for the precise analysis of your lung capacity and is the gold standard for evaluation of respiratory disorders. Bronchoscopy: Outpatient examination of the lungs and airways for the diagnosis of respiratory conditions such as pulmonary nodules, persistent cough and unexplained shortness of breath. Performed with gentle sedation, this test is performed by our physicians in the endoscopy suites of Cape Coral Hospital and Gulf Coast Medical Center.

Pulmonary Stress Testing: Our lung specialists will run a comprehensive evaluation of your how well your lungs are working during exercise.

Sleep Medicine: Complete evaluation of sleep disorders including sleep apnea, fatigue, insomnia, restless legs and snoring. See more information in the Sleep section of our website.

Sleep Solution

We offer complete physician directed evaluation and treatment of your sleep disorders. Our sleep services include a wide array of specific tests to identify the source of your sleep difficulties. In conjunction with our sleep specialists, we offer testing in our American Academy of Sleep Medicine certified facility with fully credentialed sleep physicians and specialists. A sampling of tests provided includes

Polysomnography (PSG): Fully attended overnight sleep testing for the evaluation of fatigue, snoring, and disrupted sleep. PSG is the standard test used in the diagnosis of sleep apnea, and may be performed in a single or two night setting. Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT): A daytime nap test for the evaluation of excess daytime sleepiness. This test is most often used for the evaluation and treatment of narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia.

Maintenance of Wakefulness (MWT): Also a daytime test, MWT is performed to assess ability to remain awake and is useful for assessment of ability to sustain wakefulness.

PAP NAP: Daytime testing for selected patients to enhance comfort and compliance in the use of CPAP (treatment for sleep apnea).

Mask Fit: An daytime opportunity to meet with our sleep technician specialists for CPAP mask adjustments and fine tuning of CPAP therapy.
